Inspired by the homonymous book written by R.C. Sherriff, 'A Última Jornada' follows a group of British soldiers during World War I. The movie shows multiple claustrophobic scenes with the reality of the fights against the Germans in the trenches. Although it is not as emotional as the book, it is still a beautiful adaptation.
This is the second movie by Taylor Sheridan, who is also an actor- and he is starting to shape his sense of direction. Previously, Sheridan had directed a horror movie and now he shows that he has talent for a good police suspense- both to direct and script. He even won the award for Best Director of the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2017. With a story that seduces and intrigues you to want to unravel the plot, 'Wind River' is great for those who love a good thriller.
In times of "fake news" and accusations about the role of the press, 'Spotlight' brings good old journalism to work – and revealing one of the most sordid stories of the Catholic Church. A film that is a real lesson in journalism for students, professionals and for all those who just follow the communication channels – but who need to judge and evaluate the information they are consuming.
